We are now writing a new chapter in the fight against climate change and working to achieve a new EDGE® certification for Ambar Roca.
Advanced technology and the use of first-class materials, we are building the second sustainable residential building in Santa Marta.
Rainwater collected on the roof as well as water produced by the air conditioning systems will be stored in a tank with a capacity of 26.93m³ to be reused in the irrigation of gardens and green areas.
As a measure to reduce water consumption, low-flow equipment have been chosen.
A percentage of the electricity for the common areas of the building will be supplied with the use of solar panels. Photovoltaic panels guarantee high performance in low light environments and energy production for a minimum of 25 years
The building will have a charging station for electric vehicles. The implementation and use of this system are aligned with Colombia’s energy transition commitments at COP 26: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 51% by 2030 and to be a carbon neutral country by 2050.
The project facilities offer a bicycle parking solution, encouraging the practical use of this means of transport that, in addition to being eco-friendly, promotes well-being and a healthy lifestyle.
The planting of trees will be a key part of the building’s relationship with the environment. The use of native species has been prioritized to facilitate maintenance and conservation.
The proposed tree species have been chosen for their leafiness and ability to provide shade allowing for the thermal comfort of the commercial areas and pedestrian spaces of the building at the street level of Tamacá Avenue.
Additionally, the building will have a linear planter on its façade that will improve the environmental quality of the area.
To reduce the entry of solar radiation into the interior spaces, the building’s design includes eaves and drop-offs. Taking into account Ambar Roca’s orientation, these protective elements will be implemented on the western and southern facades, thus maintaining the interior temperature of the building.
With a design based on a potential rise in sea level, the building’s access through Tamacá Avenue is 1.5 meters above street level with the main and exclusive owners’ access 19.2 meters above street level.
Taking into account the principles of use of resources dictated by the circular economy, materials from the excavation works will be reused in the finishes for the main façade of the basement towards Avenida Tamacá. The material is being stored for this purpose.
